Photography by Mike Munoz - On Monday, July 27, 2015, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the Kingdom Builders Center for a live Q&A session with Misty Copeland, the first African-American principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre in the company’s 75-year history. Joining Copeland on stage was one who helped to pave the way for Copeland, Lauren Anderson, the first African American principal dancer for any major dance company. H-E-B served as the title sponsored for the free public event that was moderated by ABC 13 KTRK's Melanie Lawson. One of the highlights of the event was Copeland giving a $2,500 donation to the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Houston. Copeland and Anderson also held an impromptu ballet session with some budding ballerinas from the Kids in Dance Studio. Some in attendance were H-E-B's Winell Herron and James Harris; Rev. William A. and Audrey Lawson; State Rep. Ron Reynolds; and Darlette Johnson-Bailey.
