Photography by Vicky Pink - On Thursday, June 4, 2015, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at Texas Southern University for the Inaugural Gold Medallion for Public-Private Leadership Award. The historic event hosted by Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee featured the Honorable Hillary Rodham Clinton. She was bestowed with the first Gold Medallion for Public-Private Leadership Award that was named in honor of civil rights activist and former Congresswoman Barbara Jordan. After the award presentation, the U.S. Presidential candidate addressed the crowd . Some in attendance were Dr. John Rudley, Rose Mary McGowan (sister of late Congresswoman Barbara Jordan), Dr. Thomas Freeman, Tammie Campbell, City Councilwoman Brenda Stardig, State Rep. Gene Wu, Judge Fredericka Allen, State Rep. Ron Reynolds, LaRence Snowden, Eva Pickens, James Ward, Sheri Cole, Allison Leland, Clardina Hopes, HISD Trustee Wanda Adams, Rhonda Arnold, Marianne Walker, Rev. William Lawson, and James Douglas.
