Photography by Vicky Pink - On Friday, June 19, 2015, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the Justice of the Peace – Precinct 7 Chambers for the “Hang Tough” 21st Annual Pre-Father’s Day Celebration Reception. The affair celebrated 36 fathers, godfathers, mentors and all former honorees from 1995 – 2015 who have sown seeds of hope through the “Hanging Tough” mission outreach program. Dr. Edith Irby Jones and Former Judge Bill Littlejohn gave words of wisdom. Helen George and Florida “Flo” Cooper challenged and presented a special presentation. Councilmember Robert Gallegos and Robert Prather represented the honorees with a response to the challenge. Some in attendance were Rev. Dr. Elmo Johnson, Beverly Ward, Erma Palmer, Attorney Hichael Harris, Judge Zinetta Burney, Justice Jim Sharp, Honorable Ron Reynolds, Anna James, Minister Theresa Dews, Fran Gentry, and Charles Savage.
