Photography by Vicky Pink On Thursday, March 5, 2015, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the Texas Southern University’s Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs for the community forum on the range of criminal justice policy solutions in Harris County. The forum entitled “Houston, We Have a Problem” A Community Forum Introducing a Blueprint for Criminal Justice Reform To Reduce Overcrowding at the Harris County Jail” featured panelists Alex Bunin, Jennifer Herring, Dr. James Douglas, Jay Jenkins, and Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia. This Community Forum, sponsored by the Earl Carl Institute, the University of Houston Law Center, and the Texas Criminal Justice Coalition was designed to examine various aspects of the criminal justice system and make recommendations for improvement in Harris County. Some in attendance were State Rep. Ron Reynolds, Susan Bynum, and Georgia Provost.
