Photography by Mike Munoz and Vicky Pink- On Thursday, October 1, 2015, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the JW Marriott Hotel for the International Women and Money Leadership Luncheon as part of the 9th Annual International Financial & Leadership Summit. Under the theme “Empowering Girls to Lead” a distinguished panel including Leslie Pitts, Yolanda Green, Wanda Adams, and Shirley Ann Robinson that was moderated by Dr. Sherry Blake answered young girls' questions and gave words of wisdom. Dr. Sherry Blake, CleRenda McGrady, Yolanda Green, Spring Williams, and Tangy Napier were honored for their contributions to the community. The surprise of the afternoon was the appearance of Solange Knowles who accepted an award on behalf of her mother, Tina Knowles, and gave a moving speech. The affair was emceed by Melanie Lawson and was hosted by Deavra Daughtry, Founder of Texas Women Empowerment Foundation.
