Photography by Semetra Samuel - On Saturday, October 17, 2015, Houston Style Magazine was on hand at the home of Paige and Tilman Fertitta for the Houston Police Department’s 8th Annual True Blue Gala on the Bayou presented by the Houston Police Foundation. The event hosted by Chairman Tilman Fertitta raised funds for HPD equipment. Guests attired in the color of the evening, blue, enjoyed an extraordinary buffet with lively entertainment including a special performance by a Tina Turner impersonator. The night was filled with interactive scenarios, simulated gunshots, and the chance to simulate the use of police weapons. These demonstrations were created to give citizens a glimpse of how officers handle certain situations on a daily basis. Chief Charles McClelland and Dave Ward were some in attendance.
