Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee is making sure the residents of her district are staying cool with the Beat the Heat Program. Seniors, veterans and the disabled who were in need were given air conditioners for free. The heat wave has been devastating and this program has always sought to make sure the constituents of the 18th Congressional District can Beat the Heat.
