Photography by Vicky Pink - Comcast Houston helped bring the Internet home for many families with the ongoing program of Comcast Internet Essentials. The Nation’s largest and most comprehensive broadband adoption initiative provides low-cost Internet service and computer equipment and free digital literacy training. A big surprise was given to 138 families as Comcast gave them laptops to enjoy the Internet at home. Some in attendance were National Internet Essentials Spokesperson and Olympic champion Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Comcast Corporation Senior Executive Vice President David L. Cohen, State Rep. Gene Wu, Mayor Sylvester Turner, and Yolanda Green.
