Photography by Vicky Pink - On Monday, January 18, 2016, Houston Style Magazine was on hand in downtown Houston for the Annual “Original” Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Parade sponsored by the Black Heritage Society. The 38th parade featured plenty of bands, beauty queens, elected officials, and more showcasing the diversity of Houston and the vision of Dr. King’s dream. Some in attendance were City Councilwoman Amanda Edwards, City Councilman Jerry Davis, Cheryl Elliott Thornton, Constable Reuben Davis, and Morris Overstreet.
