Houston is becoming a place that is an entertainment hub partly due to events like the 3rd Annual Go DJ Awards. The largest award show in the city honored Mayor Sylvester Turner, Paul Wall, Tami Roman, DJ XO, and Jhonni Blaze. MC Kane and JJ of 97.9 guided attended through the night that highlighted the accomplishments of DJs. Some in attendance were James Prince, Sr., CEO of Rap-A-Lot Records; Ron Jemison, Jr., President of Franklin Beauty School; Isiah Carey, Reporter for Fox 26 Houston; Jeffrey Boney, Houston Forward Times Editor; Nakia Cooper, Owner of NewsWithAttitude.com and CW39 Digital Content Manager; and Lydia Harris, Co-Founder of Death Row Records.
