Photography by Vicky Pink - Houston’s 5th Ward’s art, culture and history is annually celebrated at the Lyons Avenue Renaissance Festival. This year was extra special since it was the 150th anniversary of the Fifth Ward Community and 75th anniversary and re-opening of the Deluxe Theater. Tons of activities and services were offered for those in attendance including 40,000 Egg Drop, dance performances, Housing Fair, and much more. Trudy Lynn, Brian Jack & the Zydeco Gamblers, Chuck Montgomery, Lady D with Brentice, Erikah Nocturnl, Los Ligaditos, Yung Giant, Devan Smith, Gonzo247, and others made up the entertainment line-up that included more than 20 performers.
