Photography by Vicky Pink - Partnerships with the community are one of the ways Houston ISD is able to give students more than just an education but experiences to prepare them for their future. Houston ISD Board Trustee Wanda Adams presented certificates of appreciation to some of Houston ISD valued community partners at a ceremonial certificate presentation at the district’s office. Kut-n-Zone barbers and Diamonds and Pearls Mothers founders were each presented with certificates for their community service that was rendered at the beginning of this school year when they held their Back-2-School Hair Cut Charity event. Kids received free haircuts and other prizes to get them ready for school. Former NBA player Robert Reid was also in attendance.
