98th Mayor’s Holiday Tree Lighting
Photography by Vicky Pink - Mayor Sylvester Turner kicked off the holiday season at the 98th Annual Mayor’s Holiday Celebration and Tree Lighting presented by Reliant, an NRG company. This free holiday event has become a tradition for Houstonians to enjoy a night of music, fireworks and family fun. An enormous 65’ holiday tree twinkling with energy-efficient LED lights, striking ornaments and a sparkling star topper lit up downtown Houston. Special speakers and performers were Mayor Sylvester Turner; Elizabeth Killinger, President, NRG Retail and Reliant; Gospel recording artist Cheryl Fortune, and America’s Got Talent Kechi Okwuchi.
