Port City Links STEM Fair & Carnival
Photography by Vicky Pink - For the last sixteen years the Port City Chapter of The Links, Incorporated has celebrated youth athletes and made the community more aware of their health at their STEM Fair & Carnival. Held in conjunction with the opening ceremonies for the South Central Sportz, over 800 watched as fourteen youth baseball teams paraded on the diamond with the Energize for Excellence STEM marching band. With each passing year, the event grows and now includes a Health, Education, Science Fair and Carnival with pony rides, rock climbing, puppet show and more. Some in attendance were Cravon Rogers, Sabrina Loeb, Mayor Sylvester Turner, Constable May Walker, Dr. Austin Lane, Judge Ursula Hall, Trustee Wanda Adams, Faye Phillips, Aiesha Odutayo, Dr. Stacey Jones, Congressman Al Green, City Council members Dwight Boykins, Larry Green, and Amanda Edwards.
