Community Lens Art Exhibit Featured at Winston Contemporary Art

Winston Contemporary Art opened its doors to the community and held a fundraiser for the Zina Garrison Academy. The photo exhibit, ‘Community Lens,’ featured photographs taken by children in the Zina Garrison Academy program. The young artist from ZGA were instructed to point their lens at the community around them and capture everyday life experiences. This is the first photography exhibit for the children of ZGA. The exhibit also featured one of a kind pictures from New Orleans native and celebrity photographer, Patrick Melon.Melon’s new, 'Wheat Installation', on exhibit at the gallery, drew “oohs and ahhs” from the crowd. Among those in attendance; Frenchy’s owners, Percy & Cheryl Creuzot, LaBelle Femme founder, Angel Cornelius, artists Bria Larsen, Rhonda Radford, Patrick Melson, and Adriane Wiltse. Also in attendance was Winton Contemporary Art owner, Kevin Watson, Vicky Wright, LaTorria Lemon, Dave Black, Kim Gagne, and Angel Cornelius, Winston Contemporary Art is one of the newest art spaces in Houston and will have its grand opening September 20, 2018. WCA's non-profit component, Art For Good, is designed to bring artists to the community through spoken word, children's programs and other collaborative media.
