HPL’s Musica! Festival and Mercado
Photography by Vicky Pink - The Houston Public Library hosted a day-long celebration of story, song, and cinema, featuring exhibit tours and discussions, live entertainment, an outdoor market with books, multimedia, food and crafts, youth activities, and more for the reading public. Featured guests included Houston Poet Laureate Leslie Contreras Schwartz, musical puppet show with author Raquel M. Ortiz, Los Skarnales, Invicto, Zenteno Spirit, and the 1987 film La Bamba! All could be seen enjoying the festivities and rediscovering their love for reading and the arts.
