HLS&R Black Heritage Western Gala
Rodeo season is coming so it’s time to dust off the boots and pull out that wide brim hat. Family and friends of the HLS&R Black Heritage Committee gathered together at the George R. Brown Convention for the 32nd Annual Scholarship Gala. The most anticipated event was an all black attire type of flare with LaShondra Boddy, event chairman. Emcee Brianna Conner moved the program along with greetings form Judge Lina Hiladgo. On the scene were Congressman Al Green, Congressman Sylvester Turner, former Congresswoman Erica Lee Carter, Simone Biles, Jonathan Owens, Rep. Ron Reynolds, Judge Ursula A. Hall, Judge Wanda Adams, Mary Benton, Bishop James Dixon, Dr. Letitia Plummer, Linda Toyota, Connie Cochran, and Houston City Councilwomen Carolyn Evans Shabazz, and Martha Castex-Tatum.
