Vanessa Gilmore opens Tea with Judge V in King David Hotel in historic Riverside

Judge, author, and entrepreneur are some ways to describe Judge Gilmore. When she was sworn in as a federal judge in 1994, she was the youngest sitting federal judge in the nation. Now retired from the bench as a United States District Judge after 28 years of service, the is a sought-after speaker, a voice-over artist, and the author of four books. This month she adds entrepreneur to her resume with the opening of her new business venture, Tea with Judge V. It is set to open this month inside the Hotel King David, a unique boutique hotel, on the historic Riverside Drive in Houston, Texas.

The Community Artist Collective Trio

The Community Artists’ Collective welcomes the new year with “Wisdom and Hope,” the creative offerings of local artists Hardy Allen, Daniel Tesfai, and Zymora Eikner. Houston Symphony Announces the Harry Potter Film Concert Series, Opening with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in Concert

Audiences will experience the Houston Symphony performing John Williams’ music to the entire first film live to picture from one of the most beloved film series in history

The Houston Symphony announced today that the Symphony will perform Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in Concert on July 14 and 15, 2023 at the Hobby Centeras part of the Harry Potter Film Concert Series. The concert will feature the Houston Symphony performing live, to picture, every note from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Audiences will be able to relive the magic of the entire film in high-definition on a 40-foot screen while hearing the Houston Symphony perform John Williams’ unforgettable score live. SceneFour: Rhythms Transformed into Fine Art

SceneFour has unveiled more than forty collections, gaining particular recognition for its pioneering "rhythm-on-canvas" artworks. This innovative process involves drummers generating abstract works in collaboration with SceneFour, translating their movements behind the drum kit onto the canvas. Cory Danziger, Co-Founder and Conceptual Artist of SceneFour, has worked alongside Artist Ravi Dosaj since 2004, exclusively dedicating themselves to crafting collaborative art with renowned musicians. Notably, SceneFour's recent artistic venture involves Shelia E, a distinguished percussionist honored with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star. Often dubbed the Queen of Percussion, Shelia E is part of the Escovedo Family, alongside her father Pete Escovedo and brother Peter Michael. Her impressive collaborations encompass luminaries like Prince, Marvin Gaye, George Duke, and Ringo Starr.

This year the African American Art Advisory Association (5A) of the Museum of Fine Art Houston celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Citywide African American Artists Exhibition. The Exhibit will be hosted at different venues and spaces across the city, including the University Museum at Texas Southern University and the Glassell School of Art at the Museum of Fine Arts. The Houston Citywide African American Artists Exhibition is open to all artists of the African diaspora in the greater Houston area. It is sponsored by the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, through 5A (the African American Art Advisory Association at the MFAH) and the University Museum at Texas Southern University.
