Mardi Gras Ball for Special People at Moody Gardens, Galveston Island

Each year Moody Gardens® hosts the Mardi Gras Ball for Special People, which provides the opportunity for people with disabilities to safely enjoy the spirit and fun of Mardi Gras. This is a free event for those with special needs and their immediate family and/or caregivers. The event includes food, refreshments, live music, beads, costume and dance contests, pictures, face painting arts & crafts and more. Moody Gardens to Host 37th Annual Mardi Gras Ball for Special People

Jazz around the world with a free family-friendly Mardi Gras Ball

This year, Moody Gardens Mardi Gras Ball for Special People will feature a cool jazz theme “Around the World,” which incorporates Mardi Gras celebrations from around the globe. Entertainment will include music by a DJ and live performances. Guests, who are encouraged to dress up in their jazz soul costumes, will also enjoy food, crafts, dance, and costume contests. Attendees can also take pictures in front of multiple backdrops and with costume characters.
