HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant I. Duplechain and Officer J. Burton reported:
The drivers of a red Ford pickup truck and a black Mazda sedan were traveling southbound on Broyles near Collingsworth at a high rate of speed when the driver of the Ford veered into the Mazda's lane and struck the Mazda. The impact caused both vehicles to lose control and flip over. The Mazda then struck a street sign, a power pole, a tree and came to a rest after striking a house. The Ford struck three vehicles parked in front of the same residence. The driver of the Mazda (victim) was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford was questioned and released.
The case will be presented to the Harris County grand jury for possible charges.
