HOMESTEAD, Fla. – “La deserción en la Iglesia: ¿Por qué la gente se va y qué podemos hacer?” (published by WestBow Press) by author Roberto Tinoco is an investigation to know why the people are leaving the church and if anything can be done to stop the desertion.

“The objective is that the lord has sent the church to this world to proclaim the message of salvation,” Tinoco explains. “The work of the church is to win people, to disciple and conserve them in church by serving God and serving the community.”

As a pastor, Tinoco was concerned by the amount of people he would see joining his church and attending, only to leave it. In addition to members of the congregation, Tinoco has seen church pastors and leaders leave the church. To see if anything could be done about the issue, Tinoco wrote this book that looks at and explains why people leave the church and ways to bring back as well as retain current members.
