Claudia Marie Llorens Moran

Claudia Marie Llorens Moran made her grand entrance into this world on October 6, 1930, in Natchitoches, Louisiana. And on January 1, 2017, she made her peaceful exit in Houston, TX. The beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend died at the age of 86.

As a child in Louisiana, Moran spent her early years of life in the fields picking cotton alongside her nine siblings. It was hard work but despite it Moran was able to withstand grueling work all while maintaining her pursuit of education. She would later graduate high school as the salutatorian.

Now on her own in the world, Moran would find love with Andrew Moran. The two married and were deeply in love for 68 beautiful years. From that union five children were born – 2 boys and 3 girls. Though their courtship started in Louisiana, their love story would take them Texas to make their permanent home.

Throughout her life, Moran was known as a woman who cared for her community. She cared for the sick, suffering and dying. Alongside her husband, Moran prepared and served the homeless. She took time out with the elderly and those suffering from drug abuse. People knew that Moran always had a shoulder on which they could cry on and a hand in which they could hold.

Just as much as she took care the community, she took care of home. If she wasn’t in the kitchen working her magic on her famous cobblers, she was deep in material sewing her daughters’ clothes.

Moran’s spiritual needs were met at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She was an original parishioner of the church. Moran tithed regularly and attended mass throughout the week.

Professionally, Moran worked with the U.S. Postal Service for 35 years. Socially, Moran was just as active. Having active membership with the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, Christian Mothers, Ladies’ Sodality, Catholic Daughters and bazaar committee of Our Lady Star of the Sea. In her spare time, she enjoyed writing and poetry. She loved power walking with her family and friends.

Claudia Marie Llorens Moran will be cherished by a host of family and friends.

Final arrangements for Moran will occur on Monday, January 9th at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church (1401 Fidelity Street, Houston, TX 77029) with visitation from 8:30-930am; rosary at 9:30am; funeral mass at 10:00am; and burial at Veterans’ Cemetery at 12:45pm.
