Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner said that planning and patience are key to those visiting the city during spring break next week. Turner said that most of Houston’s attractions that are frequented by spring breakers are all within a 5-mile radius, and that can cause some traffic and parking headaches. “An average of 350,000 people per day will travel to the Museum District and NRG Park to attend dozens of attractions, including the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Hermann Park, the Houston Zoo, Miller Outdoor Theater and our fabulous museums," Turner said. In addition to the visiting traffic during the weeklong school vacation, there’s the daily traffic of the people who work at the 50 institutions that make up the Texas Medical Center, which is next to all of the big attractions. Turner said electronic signs will help direct drivers to the best parking spots.
