All-Star outfielder George Springer listed day-to-day with wrist strain

The Astros suffered a minor setback in Thursday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. All-Star center fielder George Springer had to leave the game after he suffered a right wrist strain in the bottom of the fifth inning. Springer made a brilliant diving catch to hinder Arizona’s Andy Young from getting a hit.
Springer has been listed as day-to-day by the organization as they would like to do further testing to know the severity of the injury.
“I don’t know if he’s available [Friday] or not,” Dusty Baker said after the game on Thursday. “We’ll see. Nothing is broken. It’s just a wrist strain. I’m hoping he’ll be alright in a couple of days. I’m just glad it wasn’t broken or fractured. He did it on the fine play he made in center field.”
The 2017 World Series MVP has been one of the most reliable bats on Houston’s current road trip. After being given a day off to clear his head last month during the Los Angeles Dodgers series, Springer has produced 11 RBI in his last six games.
