Bad news has plagued the Houston Rockets this season and on Monday they were hit by the injury bug once again as veteran point guard John Wall will miss the remainder of the 2020-21 NBA season with a right hamstring strain. Rockets General Manager Rafael Stone made the announcement after an MRI that was performed by Dr. Steve Flores of Memorial Hermann revealed the injury.

Wall, who was traded to the Rockets in exchange for guard Russell Westbrook and a 2023 lottery-protected first-round pick in December 2020 returned this season after missing over two years of NBA action. He missed time this year with a plethora of injuries and was unable to play in back-to-backs for Houston due to preventative maintenance.

The former five-time All-Star will finish the season averaging 20.6 points, 6.9 assists, and 3.2 rebounds in his first season for Houston. His absences will give the Rockets an opportunity to evaluate guards Kevin Porter Jr. and Armoni Brooks as they will share the ball handling duties for the remainder of the season.
