If you watched the Houston Rockets on Friday in the 113-100 loss to the Detroit Pistons, you could see why some consider them the perfect conundrum. Even with losing their franchise high 19th game in a row, many fans still support them and can find more positives in the loss than negatives.

For example, you can look at the fact that when Houston had its three best players on the floor in John Wall, Victor Oladipo, and Christian Wood, the tempo of the game was very different on both ends of the floor even though they have not consistently played with each other in nearly a month and a half. The three combined for 58 points and showed flashes of what led them to a six-game winning streak during before the All-Star break.

“We have to get some continuity amongst the group,” said Rockets Head Coach Stephen Silas about having his starters back. “We have to get some chemistry and it’s super important for all these guys to play and play minutes together.”

Coach Silas hopes to have all his starters back on the floor on Sunday as they take on the Oklahoma City Thunder (17-24) at home in an early afternoon matchup that begins at 1 p.m. CST. The Thunder has had its problem of late dealing with what the Rockets have dealt with all season and that is injuries to key players.

Guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (right shoulder soreness) who leads the team in scoring (23.5 ppg) and assists (6.0) is amongst a list of starters out against Houston along with center Al Horford (rest) and forward Darius Bazley (left shoulder contusion).

The Rockets are also dealing with the injury to one of its most explosive playmakers in Kevin Porter Jr. who left Friday’s game against the Pistons with soreness in his right quadricep and is listed as day-to-day.
