No matter what team you root for in the NBA, you have to look at the Houston Rockets and imagine what the future holds for them if they are fully healthy next season. They compete at a high level against their opponents, all the while only having the minimum amount of available players on a nightly basis and most of the time two of them would be on the injured list if the team had a full roster.

Houston fell to the Milwaukee Bucks 141-133 on Friday night one week after defeating the Bucks in Houston. Rookie KJ Martin had a career-high 26 points and Kelly Olynyk chipped in 23 points and 12 rebounds. The Rockets were playing with their league high 39th different lineup that included guard Khyri Thomas who arrived just in time to be ready for the game.

Thomas became a part of the Rockets roster after the team was granted a hardship because of the number of injuries they have, became the 28th player to enter a game for Houston this season which ties an NBA record along with the Orlando Magic this season.

“I am never going to take this moment for granted,” said Thomas who scored a career-high 16 points. “Whether its 10 days or the rest of the year, I am going to take this opportunity and run with it. Me having this opportunity means a lot to me. God put me in this position, so I am going to run with it and make the most of it.”

The Rockets did their best to stay competitive in the game trailing by only one point at the half, but Milwaukee, who is now tied for the second-best record in the Eastern Conference overpowered them in the third quarter by scoring 43 points on their way to their 43 victory of the season.

“I told the guys after the game how proud I am of them for the effort they gave,” Coach Silas told the media. “I was super proud of the group.”

Houston will be back in action on Saturday night as they face one of the NBA’s elite teams in the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City.
