For lifelong Houston Astros fans, it must have been a walk down memory lane seeing the name Biggio on the back of a uniform rounding the bases at Minute Maid Park after hitting a home run. Only problem was this Biggio played for the opposite team. Toronto Blue Jays third baseman Cavan Biggio help lead his team to an 8-4 victory over the Houston Astros.

Former Astros Hall of Fame second baseman Craig Biggio was in attendance with his family and watched as his son got his first homer in the same park, he played almost 600 games and where he collected his 3,000th hit.

"I've sat in the seats for hundreds of games watching my dad play and now it's a little reversed," Biggio said. "It's pretty cool to be able to do that in front of him in his building."

Biggio’s home run gave the Blue Jays an early 2-0 lead in the top of the second inning and Toronto would strike again in the very next inning putting three more runs on the board against Astros starting pitcher Cristian Javier (3-1) who seemed to have command trouble early on.

Houston would begin to chip away at the five-run deficit in the bottom of the fourth inning when designated hitter Yordan Alvarez hit his sixth home run of the season to drive in Alex Bregman who had doubled earlier in the inning and cut the score to 5-2.

Alvarez, who became the fastest player since 1961 to drive in 100 RBI (114 games), would strike again in the very next inning hitting an RBI single to bring home Aledmys Diaz from second base to inch closer to the lead.

“I just try to make good contact with the baseball,” Alvarez said when asked about his ability to get opposite field hits. “When I am making good contact, it’s going to go in the right path.”

Astros manager Dusty Baker also reiterated how good of a hitter Alvarez is becoming in his postgame press conference.

“He’s a hitter,” Baker said. “He’s a hitter with slugger’s power. Those are the kind of guys you want on your team.

Houston would manage to get within one run of Toronto heading into the ninth inning, but a catching error by first baseman Yuli Gurriel and a three-run home run off of reliever Joe Smith by Marcus Semien would crush any hopes of comeback for the Astros.

The final game of the series takes place at Minute Maid Park on Sunday with the first pitch at 1:10 p.m.
