Whataburger, the beloved Texas-based chain, is teaming up with Gratitude Initiative, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children of military and veteran families, to mark the "Month of the Military Child" with a special fundraiser.

From April 1 to April 14, patrons visiting any Whataburger location can contribute a minimum of $1 to the Month of the Military Child fundraiser. In return, donors will receive a thank-you coupon for a complimentary Whataburger with the purchase of a medium fry and 32-ounce drink, redeemable during their next visit.

Established in 2013, Gratitude Initiative has been committed to empowering children of military families to succeed in college, their careers, and life. They offer a range of resources to students in grades 8-12, including personalized college and career counseling, SAT®/ACT® test preparation, financial aid guidance, and scholarships—all at no cost.

This initiative is part of Whataburger's philanthropic program, Feeding Student Success, which aims to address food insecurity and educational challenges faced by students and teachers alike.

"Allie Watters, Community Relations Manager at Whataburger, expressed, "We recognize the unique obstacles that military students encounter in their educational pursuits. Through Whataburger Feeding Student Success and in collaboration with organizations like Gratitude Initiative, we are proud to contribute to their success by providing essential resources. It's an honor for us to support those who serve our country, and we appreciate our customers' generosity in making a meaningful impact."

The funds raised during Whataburger's Month of the Military Child fundraiser will play a crucial role in enabling thousands of teenagers from military and veteran families to pursue their aspirations in higher education and beyond.

Lee Sechrist, Co-Founder of Gratitude Initiative, remarked, "Military teenagers embody strength and resilience, with a profound sense of service ingrained in their character. As future leaders across various fields, they will undoubtedly leave a positive mark on our nation. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Whataburger's dedicated team members and loyal patrons for their unwavering support in honoring military families, both locally and globally."

Through initiatives like these, Whataburger continues to demonstrate its commitment to the communities it serves, embodying the spirit of Texan hospitality and generosity.
