The holiday season in Houston just got a little brighter, thanks to PlazAmericas, affectionately known as "Houston’s Mall of the Familia." Located in Sharpstown, this beloved community destination is rolling out an enchanting slate of events designed to captivate hearts and spread joy. From the lively Festival de la Alegría to the much-anticipated Christmas Celebration, PlazAmericas is serving up holiday magic for Houstonians of all ages.

Festival de la Alegría: A Day of Laughter and Magic

December 8, 1 PM – 5 PM
Kick off the festivities with the 10th annual Festival de la Alegría (Day of the Clown). Prepare to be dazzled by magic acts from Chispirrin & Fermin and Mago Mario, alongside balloon artistry and face painting by Anita y Botita. The lineup of charismatic clowns—Jaz & Macuza, Tomatillo & Chonito, and Fanny—will have the crowd in stitches. Adding to the merriment is a live mariachi band, infusing the day with traditional tunes. It’s a one-of-a-kind celebration that promises to deliver smiles and surprises galore.

Fiesta Navideña: A Christmas Extravaganza

December 15, 1 PM – 5 PM
The holiday cheer continues with the Fiesta Navideña, a jam-packed day brimming with live performances and delightful surprises. Visitors can snap free photos with The Grinch between 2 PM and 4 PM, catch Ballet Folklorico Aguilar’s stunning performance at 3:15 PM, and be mesmerized by the Explosive Light Robots at 3:30 PM. Plus, kids and adults alike can try their luck with prize-filled balloons, featuring treats like custom piñatas from Tutus Fantasy Dream. The celebration wraps up with a heartwarming mariachi performance and a giant Grinch-themed cake provided by Rodo’s Bake Shop.
