As Texas’ largest canoe and kayak race, this thrilling event invites both competitive and recreational paddlers to take on the scenic waters of Buffalo Bayou—all in support of a great cause.

A Race for All Skill Levels

Hundreds of participants will gather at the starting line at 7700 San Felipe St., eager to compete in solo, tandem, or unlimited boating categories. Whether you're a seasoned kayaker aiming for gold or a first-time paddler looking for a fun adventure, the Regatta welcomes everyone.

More Than Just a Race—A Celebration of Houston’s Iconic Waterway

The Buffalo Bayou Partnership (BBP) has dedicated nearly four decades to revitalizing and preserving Houston’s most significant natural waterway. Proceeds from the Regatta directly support BBP’s efforts in maintaining parks, trails, and green spaces that connect Houstonians to nature and recreation.

Spectator Fun & Finish Line Festivities

Not paddling? No problem! Spectators are encouraged to cheer on racers along the route and join the finish line festivities at Allen’s Landing (1019 Commerce St.) starting at 11:00 AM. Enjoy local food, sponsor activities, and a high-energy awards ceremony at 1:30 PM, recognizing the top three winners in each division.

Rain or Shine Event

The Regatta will take place rain or shine. In the event of severe weather or unsafe water conditions, entry fees will be considered a tax-deductible donation to Buffalo Bayou Partnership, supporting ongoing conservation efforts.
