Fort Bend County Libraries is bringing the joy of live orchestral music to families with a free outdoor concert, The Orchestra Games, performed by the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra (FBSO). Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 12, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 noon, at the Jodie E. Stavinoha Amphitheater, located at George Memorial Library (1001 Golfview, Richmond, TX).

A Musical Adventure for the Whole Family

Perfect for young audiences, The Orchestra Games, composed by Gregory Smith, introduces children to the magic of symphonic music in a fun and interactive way. The performance creatively presents instruments and sections of the orchestra in an Olympic-style competition, with events like:
🎻 The Low-Note Limbo – How low can the strings go?
🎺 The Glissando Slide for Life – A thrilling brass showcase!
🥁 The Fast-Note Dash – A race of rapid musical notes!

The excitement continues with an encore performance of Bowl of Twelve Notes, another Gregory Smith composition. In this engaging journey through music history, an energetic narrator explores different eras of music—all with just twelve musical notes!

Meet the Musicians & Explore the Instruments

After the performance, kids can enjoy a hands-on experience at the Instrument Petting Zoo in the Bohachevsky Gallery (inside the library). This is a wonderful opportunity for children to see, touch, and learn more about different orchestral instruments.
