Dr. Samuel Axelrad is a Houston author, retired urologist and Vietnam War veteran who recently published a memoir titled Peaceful Bones. Dr. Axelrad's memoir illustrates his time in Vietnam as an army surgeon during the Vietnam war where he finds himself helping not only American soldiers but hundreds of Vietnamese citizens both wounded and ill. Peaceful Bones is about one special patient named Hung Nguyen aka "Charlie" who becomes an unlikely friend on the battlefield. Dr. Axelrad saves Charlie's life, forging a bond that crosses cultural and enemy lines.

Frank and Stacey LaViola are Katy residents and local experts in emergency services with their franchise office Paul Davis of West Houston. The couple has donated much needed home restoration and repairs to Kingwood Park High School’s Auto Collision program instructor Jeff Wilson and his family. In coordination with The Collision Industry Foundation (CIF), the LaViolas will help the Wilsons after more than three-feet of water and debris flooded their home in Kingwood during Hurricane Harvey and when the levies were systematically breached in the area.
