Governor Abbott Issues Disaster Declaration Following Severe Weather Across Texas

Governor Greg Abbott today issued a disaster declaration for 16 Texas counties as a result of severe weather sustained across Texas last night. In addition to providing any and all state resources to local officials, this declaration will waive certain regulations, allowing utility companies to bring in out-of-state resources to assist in restoring power as quickly as possible.

The Women’s Fund for Health Education and Resiliency, a nonprofit providing Houston-area women and girls with the tools needed to be advocates for their health, will present an in-person “Doc Talk” presentation on “What I Would Tell My 35-year-old Self” with Dr. Mary Clare Haver, author of The Galveston Diet, followed by a networking Happy Hour on Monday, October 23, 2023, from 4:30 – 6 p.m., at the offices of alliantgroup, 3009 Post Oak Blvd, Ste. 2000, Houston 77056.
