Houston … Mission Is a ‘Go’ Space Center Houston’s Crowdfunder Rockets Past Goal

Generous people around the world supported Space Center Houston’s mission to help restore NASA’s Historic Mission Control. The nonprofit’s first-ever crowdfunding campaign, "Webster Challenge: Restore Historic Mission Control,” more than doubled its initial Kickstarter goal and rocketed past the city of Webster matching funds to raise nearly $507,000. In total, $5 million is needed to restore and sustain this iconic area and, thanks to this successful campaign, Space Center Houston has raised more than $4 million toward that goal.

New research shows evidence of inflammation in the blood of Parkinson’s disease patients during the earliest stages of the disease, lending support to theories that inflammation is a major driver of PD. The findings, from researchers at the Alabama Udall Center at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, were published April 13 in npj Parkinson’s Disease, part of the Nature Partner Journal series in partnership with the Parkinson’s Foundation.

Melania Trump's kidney procedure explained

First lady Melania Trump, 48, underwent an embolization procedure Monday morning at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to treat a benign kidney condition, according to a statement issued by the White House. The procedure was successful with no complications. Trump will likely remain in the hospital for the duration of the week, the statement said.
