Washington, D.C. – Latino Victory Project issued the following statement after reports that White House Chief of Staff John Kelly offered to resign over his mishandling of domestic abuse allegations against a White House aide.

“It comes as no surprise to the Latino community that President Trump’s Chief of Staff would publicly defend and privately protect an aide accused of domestic violence. We witnessed General Kelly’s morally bankrupt leadership at the Department of Homeland Security, where he executed the President’s mass deportation scheme and implemented the unconstitutional Muslim ban,” said Latino Victory Project president Cristóbal Alex. “Faced with mounting pressure, General Kelly is beginning to see the writing on the wall. We urge him to follow through on his instincts.”
