Super Bowl Champion, Justin Reid of the Kansas City Chiefs’, returns to his second home and the city where his NFL career started, Houston, TX to give back to the community that cheered him on for 4 years. The former Texans and now Chiefs’ safety served as an ambassador for Kids’ Meals Houston and was known for surprise events for the community through his foundation, J.Reid Indeed, with the help of partners, Amazon and Microsoft. Reid returns to Houston and will make a special stop at Kid’s Meals Houston, 330 Garden Oaks Blvd., Houston, TX 77018, on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 from 10 AM to 11 AM joining volunteers to package food for the community.

Reid will join volunteers in the kitchen to make sandwiches and snack mix. The Super Bowl Champion will be joined by volunteers from the Houston Area Retired Teachers Association. “Justin Reid has been devoted to ending childhood hunger since his early days as a rookie when he volunteered with Kids’ Meals and first learned about the staggering number of hungry children living right here in Houston. Since that time, he has shared his time, talents, and funds to end childhood hunger in Houston. We are thrilled to have this Super Bowl Champion in our kitchen again shining a light on child food insecurity and taking care of the community where he lives, as he always has.” Beth Harp, CEO Kids’ Meals Houston.

Reid was signed for three years with the Kansas City Chiefs this past season. This is his 5th season in the NFL. Since Reid’s professional start, he has been known as a big hitter on the field, but an even bigger giver off the field. Born and raised in Louisiana, many of Reid's family also called Houston home. “Houston will forever be a home to me. Through J.Reid Indeed I'm just returning the love Houston has always shown toward me and my family. The city shaped me and helped me become a better person, and Kid’s Meals Houston is a special part of that. I have connected with so many families, and those relationships mean so much to me. One of my foundation pillars is nutrition. Without food, no child can be their best academically or as an athlete. We have to end childhood hunger, and I will continue to do my part in that fight.” Chiefs’ Safety Justin Reid.

Reid started the J.Reid Indeed Foundation last year and has raised nearly $150,000. The foundation focuses on Technology, Nutrition and Athletics. Currently, J.Reid Indeed serves the schools in underserved communities in the Louisiana, Kansas City and Houston areas. For more information please visit www.jreidindeed.com
