The Astros Foundation and AT&T SportsNet raised $500,000 during the fourth-annual Astros Foundation Charity Game and live broadcast, doubling last year’s efforts! This year’s Charity Game at Minute Maid Park occurred on September 6, during a game against the Mariners. Fans at the game and tuning in at home were able to support the initiative by purchasing special bags, which included tickets to a 2020 Astros game, autographed merchandise and more.

EPA Awards over $1.3 million to Texas Universities to Research Potential Environmental Impacts in Waste Streams
Today, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced approximately $1.3 million to fund research by two academic institutions in Texas. Texas A&M AgriLife and Texas Tech University will work to expand the understanding of the environmental risks posed by per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in waste streams. They will also work to identify practical approaches to manage the potential impacts as PFAS enters the environment.
