192 dogs rescued from home in Butts County, GA
More than 190 dogs, the majority of them Chihuahuas, were rescued from a Butts County home on Friday, July 31. Butts County Animal Control and volunteers from Butts Mutts went to the home, where the owners surrendered the dogs and helped catch and calm the dogs down.
Sewage flowing from Mexico across U.S. border again after temporary solution fails
The flow of sewage from Mexico across the U.S. border near the Naco Point of Entry has started again after it was stopped around 11 a.m. Cochise County Sheriffs say the sewage is flowing west onto private property. They say work is ongoing to mitigate the flow. The public is advised to avoid the area. Health officers say there is no immediate threat to public health and are preparing to clean up the mess. Pre-evacuation orders for residents near the flow have been canceled.

In an effort to improve vaccination rates and better protect the residents of Harris County from COVID-19, Harris County Public Health (HCPH) will provide $100 cash cards to residents receiving their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at an HCPH vaccination site. In order to receive the $100 cash card, residents will have to sign a waiver prior to the vaccination and remain in the post-vaccination waiting area at an HCPH vaccination site for the 15-to-30 minutes recommended.
