Project Row Houses (PRH) announces its Social Practice.Social Justice symposium, which will be held on Saturday, September 8 in the Historic Eldorado Ballroom. The day-long symposium, which features panel discussions and a keynote address, brings renowned, socially-engaged artists, activists and thought leaders from across the U.S. to Houston’s Third Ward to share their insights on the role of art and creativity in the social and political landscape.

The Houston Astros will begin the 2019 season on the road, taking on the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field on Thursday, March 28. This will mark the first time that the Astros have faced the Rays in a season opener. The Astros will enter 2019 having won six consecutive season openers, which is a club record. The 2019 season will be the 58th in franchise history.

Governor Greg Abbott has reappointed Becky Johnson and appointed Brandon Stowers and Mark Varhaug to the Texas Board of Professional Geoscientists for terms set to expire on February 1, 2023. Additionally, the Governor appointed Drusilla Knight-Villarreal for a term set to expire on February 1, 2019. The board may set reasonable and necessary fees to be charged applicants and license holders, including fees for application, examination, licensure, and renewal of a license. In addition, the board shall base a fee for examination in a discipline of geoscience on the costs associated with preparing, administering, and grading that examination.
