The Health Museum to Reopen Friday, August 21
The John P. McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science announced today that it will reopen to the public on Saturday, August 22, 2020, and to museum members on Friday, August 21, with new hours and updated health protocols. Members and non-members alike are invited to visit Houston's most interactive science & health learning center to enjoy their unique educational experiences. High School State Honoree: Zane Magee Nominated by Montgomery High School in Montgomery
Zane Magee, 17, of Montgomery and Caroline Wells, 14, of Tyler today were named Texas' top two youth volunteers of 2018 by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program honoring young people for outstanding acts of volunteerism. As State Honorees, Zane and Caroline each will receive $1,000, an engraved silver medallion and an all-expense-paid trip in late April to Washington, D.C., where they will join the top two honorees from each of the other states and the District of Columbia for four days of national recognition events. During the trip, 10 students will be named America’s top youth volunteers of 2018.

I am forced to preach under something of a handicap this morning. In fact, I had the doctor before coming to church. And he said that it would be best for me to stay in the bed this morning. And I insisted that I would have to come to preach. So he allowed me to come out with one stipulation, and that is that I would not come in the pulpit until time to preach, and that after, that I would immediately go back home and get in the bed. So I’m going to try to follow his instructions from that point on.
