I am forced to preach under something of a handicap this morning. In fact, I had the doctor before coming to church. And he said that it would be best for me to stay in the bed this morning. And I insisted that I would have to come to preach. So he allowed me to come out with one stipulation, and that is that I would not come in the pulpit until time to preach, and that after, that I would immediately go back home and get in the bed. So I’m going to try to follow his instructions from that point on.

Tomar and the FCs announce 'Rise Above' album release show featuring a Stax Records tribute, Feb. 1
Austin-based soul band Tomar and the FCs are thrilled to announce the details of their “Rise Above” official album release show, taking place Saturday, Feb. 1 at Antone’s Nightclub, located at 305 E. Fifth St, Austin, Texas 78701. The release show, presented by KUTX, will open with a tribute to Stax Records featuring performances by Kevin Russell (Shinyribs), The Watters, Sheree Smith, Soul Man Sam and Courtney Santana. Doors are at 9 p.m. The Stax Records Tribute will take place 10 - 11:15 p.m. and Tomar and the FCs will play from 11:30 p.m. - 1 a.m. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased in advance here.

Researchers from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center today reported study results showing the addition of tucatinib to capecitabine (Xeloda) and trastuzumab (Herceptin) significantly improved progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) in patients with advanced HER2-positive breast cancer, with and without brain metastasis according to results of the HER2CLIMB clinical trial.
CAR T-cell therapy effective for relapsed mantle cell lymphoma patients
A one-year follow-up study led by The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center revealed a majority of patients with mantle cell lymphoma resistant to prior therapies may benefit from treatment with CD19-targeting chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy. Findings were presented Dec. 9 at the 61st American Society of Hematology Annual Meeting & Exposition in Orlando, Fla.
