Overlay Scheduled for Oak Meadows Neighborhood

Mayor Pro Tem Dave Martin is pleased to announce Houston Public Works will be performing an asphalt overlay project in the Oak Meadows subdivision. Construction is scheduled to begin tomorrow, May 15, and is expected to be completed by the middle of July 2020, weather permitting. Houston Parks and Recreation Department Releases Statement On Death of Parks & Recreation Employee

On Tuesday, November 8, 2022, at approximately 11:20 am, an electrocution incident involving a Houston Parks and Recreation Department employee occurred. The Houston Fire Department responded to an EMS call to Melrose Park, 1001 Canino Road. Upon arrival HFD found the employee to be deceased. An investigation regarding the incident is still underway.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston announces that the team from Houston Texans Teen Club was named the winner of the Building Industry Leaders (BIL) Urban Plan competition, a program of the Urban Land Institute and funded by a grant from retail electricity provider Reliant. Each of the five team members who created the winning case study received a $1,000 scholarship toward future education. Other teams participating in the competition included the Morefield Club, Galveston Island Teen Club and the Allen Parkway Club participated.
