Heritage Action Grassroots Campaign Launches Canvassing in Four States

Heritage Action for America today announced one of the first in-person grassroots policy campaigns to begin in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Project 2020, a policy-based advocacy campaign, began its second phase on June 30, when canvassers began knocking on 200,000 doors in four states.

Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins Reaffirms Voter Safety at the Polls

Harris County recently entered the Level 1 threat level under the County's new emergency response system due to a surge in confirmed cases of COVID-19. All polling centers will remain open to perform the essential function of voting during the 10-day Early Voting Period and on Election Day. The County Clerk's Office has put in place the S.A.F.E. Elections Plan to ensure that the health and safety of voters and poll workers are protected this election season. For those that do not qualify to vote by mail, the County Clerk’s Office encourages voters to take advantage of the Early Voting Period from June 29 to July 10.

Early voting is the safest way to vote in-person

Harris County Clerk Chris Hollins will cast his vote for the July Primary Runoff Elections during the Early Voting Period at Texas Southern University, a historically Black university. The Early Voting Period was extended from five days to ten days due to the Novel Coronavirus pandemic. Early voting started June 29 and ends on July 10 with a two day break to observe the July 4th Holiday.

Harris Health Targets Homeless for COVID-19 Testing and Care

He does not know where to turn for help.

METRO Mechanic, Engineering Contractor Test Positive for COVID-19

METRO has received confirmation a mechanic and an engineering contractor have tested positive for COVID-19. This brings the total number of cases to 51 METRO employees and 12 contractors. Twenty-six of the employees had no contact with the public. METRO tracks and reports all positive cases among its workforce of more than 4200. We are also conducting temperature checks of employees before they begin their workday.
