Marrow donor registry teams up with Mike Conley to launch new campaign, Heritage Holds the Cure

Be The Match®, the organization that operates the world's largest and most diverse donor registry, and Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley, have teamed up on a new public service announcement campaign, Heritage Holds the Cure, to urge Blacks and African Americans to register as potential marrow donors.

“We organize for Sojourner Truth, Fannie Lou Hamer, Septima Clark and every other Black woman who stood in the gap to secure our right to vote,” said GirlTrek co-founder, T. Morgan Dixon.

In light of one of the most pivotal presidential elections of this generation, GirlTrek, the largest public health movement and nonprofit for Black women and girls in the United States, is reactivating its #BlackGirlJusticeLeague this September through Election Day 2020.

Major Intersection Closure at Kingwood Drive and Texas Loop 494

Mayor Pro Tem Dave Martin would like to make Kingwood area residents aware, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will be closing the intersection of Kingwood Drive and Texas Loop 494 on Friday, April 17 through Monday, April 20, weather permitting, for a roadway project. The scope of work includes removing the existing dip located at the existing railroad track by raising the intersection of Kingwood Drive and Tx Loop 494, two feet with asphalt.
