Texans Rookies and Veterans Complete 2019 Organized Team Activities
The Houston Texans wrapped up their final OTA’s practice at the Houston Methodist Training Center. Now the free agents who were invited to participate in the all voluntary drills will wait to hear back from the Texans for the chance to participate in training camp. Those who do will have an opportunity to be a part of the organization for the regular season.
Texans Come Up Short Against the Colts Ending Their 2018 Season
“I think this organization has a very bright future. We have a great young quarterback. We’ve got a lot of really great guys in the locker room. They have a passion for the game. We just didn’t get it done today,” were the words Houston Texans head coach Bill O’ Brien to reporters after the Texans lost their Wild Card playoff game to the Indianapolis Colts 21 – 7 at NRG stadium. Houston ended their season with an overall record of 11-6, which included a nine-game winning streak and the 2018 AFC South Divisional Championship title.

The Houston Texans have started the full transition from the Bill O’ Brien era. Houston hired former New England Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio as their new general manager. The odds of being struck by lightning twice in a lifetime are one in nine million. For the Houston Texans those the odds were doubled within the last 3 weeks. Houston (4-10) lost another close game to divisional rival Indianapolis Colts (10-4) on a fumble inside of the five-yard line. The Texans were left wondering again, “What could have been” as they lost 27-20 to the Colts.

Two weeks ago, the Houston Rockets was a team with no identity. They had just lost their third game in a row to drop their record to 4-9. The rotation was about as stable as a three-legged table due to injuries, health and safety protocols in accordance with league policy on COVID-19 and the trade of franchise superstar James Harden to the Brooklyn Nets. Those were just some of the things keeping head coach Stephen Silas up late at night.
