Astros routed by Blue Jays on Father’s Day

“Even though they didn’t get the win it is always a pleasure to see my son play,” said Sam Bregman who is the father of Astros All-Star third baseman Alex Bregman after the game as he made his way towards the clubhouse. The elder Bregman was one of four fathers (Hector Rondon Sr., Cionel Perez Sr., and Lourdes Gurriel Sr.) of current Astros player to throw out the first pitch to their sons on Father’s Day.

There are many more moments throughout the Rockets history that has that “WOW Factor” to it and on Thursday night at the Toyota Center first-year head coach Stephen Silas had his as the Houston Rockets (8-9) defeated the Portland Trailblazers (9-8) 104-101 to extend their winning streak to a season high four games.

Texans hold joint practice with the Detroit Lions

The Houston Texans resumed training camp today, with a joint practice with the Detroit Lions who is in town early for their preseason matchup with the Texans on Saturday at NRG Stadium. With the fans looking on, the competition got a little heated at times with trash talking by both teams being heard by fans, but it was all in fun. Here are a couple of things I noticed from today’s practice.

Texans fans got a glimpse of what the upcoming season is going to look like as they watched the hometown team defeat the Detroit Lions 30 – 23. The first team offense under new offensive coordinator Tim Kelly put together a great 75-yard scoring drive that was capped off by a 4-yard touchdown pass from Deshaun Watson to DeAndre Hopkins.

Second Half Collapse Leads To Fourth Consecutive Loss For The Texans

For one half of football, the Houston Texans gave their fans something to cheer for against the New England Patriots on Sunday after taking a lead into halftime for the first time since their Week 1 game against the Carolina Panthers. The only problem is, there is the second half of football and, by the time the game was over, the fans were looking at the scoreboard trying to figure out what happened as the Texans lost 25-22 to the Patriots.
