Tax-free Shopping in Texas This Weekend Is Making History

Texas is officially into its second generation of back-to-school, tax-free shopping. Millennials bred in the state are not only the first digital natives, but they are also the first group of Texans who weren't around the last time one weekend of shopping in August wasn't tax-free. Five-year-olds heading into kindergarten in 1999 for the state's first tax-free weekend are now 24 or 25 and may have their own 5-year-old to take school shopping.

Even though Major League Soccer (MLS) is considered to be the most diverse professional sport, African Americans participation soccer is still extremely low. In the National Football League, which has the highest number of African American players with nearly 70%., there are only 5 head coaches and 0 majority owned teams.

Salvation Army Houston deploys disaster relief teams to Florida in wake of Hurricane Michael

As Hurricane Michael makes landfall along Florida’s Gulf Coast as a powerful and destructive storm, The Salvation Army has placed all disaster relief resources across the state of Florida and in neighboring states on standby, including mobile feeding kitchens, trained personnel, and supplies. Disaster response teams and units from Texas are headed to Florida to support the anticipated relief efforts. Lonzo Ball Has Career Night From Three-Point Range To Defeat The Rockets

The shorthanded New Orleans Pelicans used a very efficient game from Lonzo Ball to defeat the Houston Rockets 122-115 on Sunday at the Toyota Center in Houston.
