Governor Abbott Announces Grant Funding For Dallas Law Enforcement
Governor Greg Abbott today announced that the Homeland Security Grants Division (HSGD) within the Office of the Governor has awarded the City of Dallas more than $1 million dollars in grant funds to be used for personal protective equipment including ballistic helmets and bullet proof vests. The grant comes in the aftermath of the deadly attack on Dallas peace officers last July and is in addition to an earlier grant of $616,000 awarded in November that was also used for equipment and protective gear.

‘Hidden Figures’ Tops ‘Rogue One,’ With $22.8M #1 Debut at Box Office
With the always present caveat that “rank doesn’t matter,” it turns out that Hidden Figures was the top movie of the weekend, not Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. As you probably know, the weekend box office that everyone reports on Sunday is comprised of estimates and when the rankings are close the order can sometimes shift when the final numbers drop. By Tony Marco CNN (CNN) -- Two small planes collided in Texas on Saturday, killing at least three people, the McKinney Police Department tweeted from its verified account. The planes collided in the air near Aero County Airport and came down in front of a Home Depot in McKinney, Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson Lynn Lunsford told CNN. The incident occurred shortly after 5:30 p.m. local time. The aircraft were flying under visual flight rules and were not in contact with air traffic control, Lunsford said. McKinney is located near Dallas.
